Sky Lagoon
Reykjavík
wikimediaAn infinity edge runs the full length of Sky Lagoon's geothermal pool, set so the water appears to dissolve into the North Atlantic beyond. The lagoon sits at Kársnes Harbour in Kópavogur — technically a separate municipality, though it is about a 15-minute drive from central Reykjavík — and opened in 2021. The water holds steady at 38–40°C year-round. The main draw beyond the soak is the seven-step Skjól ritual, included with entry: you move from the lagoon to a cold plunge, a sauna with ocean views, a cold mist shower, a body scrub, a steam room, and finally a crowberry elixir. The sequence takes around an hour. Two ticket tiers are available — Saman (standard, shared facilities) and Sér (premium, private changing room). Current prices are higher than the entry on this page reflects; check the website before booking. The bar in the lagoon lets you order a drink without getting out of the water. Sunsets over the ocean from the pool are particularly good in autumn and winter. Book in advance; same-day entry is often unavailable on busy days.
