FlyOver Iceland is a motion-based flying theatre at Fiskislóð 43 in Reykjavík's Grandi harbour district, opened in September 2019. Visitors sit suspended in a harness with feet dangling in front of a 20-metre spherical screen, then ride through an 8.5-minute film soaring over glaciers, volcanoes, fjords, and remote highland terrain — accompanied by wind, mist, and scent effects synced to the footage. It was the first FlyOver installation outside North America and remains the only flying theatre of its kind in Europe. The total visit runs about 35 to 45 minutes, starting with two pre-show experiences: The Longhouse, a Viking-hall storytelling chamber, and a pre-flight briefing area. These preshows are included with admission and run back-to-back before guests board the ride itself, which departs roughly every 15 to 20 minutes. Online tickets cost 5,690 ISK for adults (14+) and 3,690 ISK for children 13 and under; buying at the door adds roughly 260 ISK. A Tuesday discount of 2,000 ISK per ticket is regularly offered. The Grandi district is easily reached on foot from the city centre, by bus, or by car — free parking is available on site. The address is directly accessible on paved roads with no 4WD requirement.
